# What the New Stellantis Pricing Rules Mean for You

Effective October 1, 2026 | Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram

## Key takeaways

- Starting October 1, 2026, dealers can only advertise prices that are available to every customer.
- Special offers (military, first responder, loyalty, etc.) are now listed separately so you can see exactly what you qualify for.
- You can still negotiate the final price once you contact the dealership.

## Quick Summary

- Starting October 1, 2026, dealers can only advertise prices that are available to every customer.
- The price you see online is real. It is not a bait-and-switch number that requires military service, loyalty, or other special qualifications.
- Special offers (military, first responder, loyalty, etc.) are now listed separately so you can see exactly what you qualify for.
- You can still negotiate the final price once you contact the dealership.

## What Changed

Stellantis (the company that owns Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram) set a minimum advertised price for new vehicles. This is called MAAP — Minimum Allowable Advertised Pricing.

Before this rule, some dealers advertised extremely low prices that only applied if you qualified for multiple special programs at the same time. The new rule stops that. The main price you see online has to be available to any customer who walks in.

## How the Advertised Price Works

Every advertised price is built the same way:

**Table: How a Stellantis advertised price is built**

| Part | What It Means |
| --- | --- |
| Start with MSRP | The manufacturer's suggested retail price |
| Add dealer items | Doc fees, accessories, limited market adjustment |
| Subtract discounts | Dealer discount + incentives available to everyone |
| Result | One clear advertised price for any customer |

## What This Means When You're Shopping

- The price on the website, in ads, or on third-party sites is a real starting point. It is not a fantasy number.
- Military, first responder, loyalty, and other special offers appear separately. You can see them and ask if you qualify.
- Dealers cannot advertise a rock-bottom price that only exists if you stack several conditional programs together.
- The advertised price is not necessarily the final price. You can still negotiate once you contact the dealership.

## Bottom Line

You should see cleaner, more honest advertised prices online. The number you see is available to every customer. Special offers are called out separately instead of being hidden inside an unrealistically low headline. And you can still work with the dealership on the final price.

Questions about a specific vehicle? Contact the dealership directly — they can walk you through the advertised price and any additional offers you may qualify for.
