# Stop Accepting Lazy AI Audits of Your Car Dealer Marketing

Everyone is using AI now. That’s a good thing. If someone isn’t, you should be worried about them.

The problem is the junk that shows up in your inbox. Some vendor, agency, or “expert” runs a single lazy prompt in ChatGPT — usually the free version, and they don’t even bother with Claude — then emails you a 40-page, 90-page, or 200-page teardown of your site. You can tell. It’s the one-shot “tell me everything wrong with this” dump with no judgment applied.

Anyone sending you that should get laughed at and walked out the door. Fast.

It’s not that AI can’t look at a website. It has serious limitations with car dealer SEO and car dealer digital marketing. For a plumber or electrician, it does a decent job on basic local SEO. Automotive is different. AI knows general SEO. It does not know franchise dealer platforms, inventory that turns daily, specials that expire, OEM rules, co-op, or how model pages and certified inventory actually perform. Car dealer GEO — getting cited in AI answers — is another layer entirely. Dumping general SEO knowledge on a dealer site and calling it an audit is not the same thing.

The technical problems make it worse. A lot of AI systems struggle with JavaScript-heavy dealer sites. They will confidently tell you the meta title is missing, the meta description is missing, and there’s no schema — when you just put all of that in. This happens constantly. You build the page, add the title, description, and schema, run it through the model, and it swears the fields are blank. It’s looking at the wrong version of the page.

Any useful AI output has to be refined and triple-checked. You cannot say “list everything wrong” and ship the result. That’s lazy. It’s pure FUD. Ignore the people who do this and do not do business with them again. If a vendor is using AI on your account, they should be able to tell you exactly what quality control went into the work you received.

You can test this yourself right now. Run your site through an AI tool. When it spits out the list, ask a follow-up: is that accurate? Are you sure? More importantly — is this high-impact?

It will give you a hundred things. Maybe ten actually matter. You won’t know which ten from the raw dump. Your job is not to become the SEO expert. That’s what you pay the company for. The supposed marketing experts are the ones who refuse to spend the time to dial it in and tell you what is actually important.

This is the same as running the store. There are a thousand things you could do every day. Success is figuring out which ones to do and which ones to ignore. The same rule applies to AI analysis of your SEO, advertising, or any other marketing. A giant unsorted list is the opposite of that judgment.

Be wary of anyone who sends you long AI output they have not synthesized into an original opinion. Google is moving the same direction. It does not want AI slop. It wants original ideas and fact-checked information — including titles, descriptions, and structured data. That bar is only getting higher for your car dealer marketing and for every other vendor you work with.

Double-check the work. Demand prioritization. If they will not stand behind a short list of what actually moves the needle, do not keep them.
